The Ben Milam ES scope of work shall include (but not be limited to the following) a variety of repairs and improvements consisting of repairing the exterior waterproofing along the perimeter of the building(s), including the required excavation, regrading and landscaping; power wash the masonry facades to remove unwanted mildew, stains etc... repoint, tuck masonry joints and repainting other metal type features along the exterior perimeter; replacement of the fire alarm system and PA system (Alternate); replacing and providing new exterior and interior lighting; HVAC upgrades at various areas (i.e. IDF/MDF rooms); replacement of existing gym windows with new energy efficient glazing systems; and replacement of existing floor materials with new (vct, carpet, and base) in the school.

SCOPE OF WORK:
In summary, the Ben Milam ES scope of work shall include (but not be limited to the following) a variety of repairs and improvements consisting of repairing the exterior waterproofing along
the perimeter of the building(s), including the required excavation, regrading and landscaping;
power wash the masonry facades to remove unwanted mildew, stains etc… repoint, tuck masonry joints and repainting other metal type features along the exterior perimeter;
replacement of the fire alarm system and PA system (Alternate); replacing and providing new
exterior and interior lighting; HVAC upgrades at various areas (i.e. IDF/MDF rooms);
replacement of existing gym windows with new energy efficient glazing systems; and
replacement of existing floor materials with new (VCT, carpet, and base) in the school.
(Special Note, an asbestos survey has been conducted that has identified, classified, and
quantified areas consisting of (ACM). Prior to planned disturbances or demolition activities
based on scope, asbestos report shall be reviewed. Abatement scope will be under the General Contractor). New work will include a new marquee sign, secured (internal) entry vestibule and new staff toilet located on the south side of the school; a covered canopy structure for one of the existing playground structures; wall padding and acoustical treatment in the gymnasium, and new acoustical ceiling systems (where applicable). In addition (as an alternate) the existing entry steps located on the west side facing McKinney are to be removed
and replaced.

PRE-BID DATE
A pre-proposal meeting will be held at 02:30 PM on Monday, August 22, 2022, at BEN MILAM ES (4200
McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75205) for all interested parties. This meeting is not mandatory, but information discussed will be extremely helpful in preparation of the proposal.
